Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod Ltd. (AWE) had a four day Festival in 1982 when the Eisteddfod committee was revived on behalf of Albury City. Since then the Eisteddfod has grown to as many as twenty three continuous days; this being the result of further support from Wodonga Council, Greater Hume Shire, Rotary, The Commercial Club Albury, as well as business operators, institutions and schools.
The Eisteddfod celebrates regional, rural and national talent, servicing nearby local government areas – Albury, Wodonga, Greater Hume, Indigo Corowa, Towong, Alpine and Wangaratta, as well as attracting performers from beyond – including Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
The Eisteddfod is a ‘mutual support’ event presenting performance opportunities, with a particular focus on Youth development and community enrichment. The Eisteddfod accommodates over four thousand performances.
AWE Ltd. is committed to its charter of encouraging interest, skills, and growth in cultural events. AWE is proud of its contribution in fostering regional talent, as well as furthering the social responsibilities of government. As a ‘volunteer’ organisation AWE applauds the same community and corporate groups, for their vision and active involvement in making the Eisteddfod an outstanding success.
The Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod is grateful for the support in cash or kind from a myriad of sponsors and donors. The following organizations have provided outstanding levels of assistance over the years.
Of course the Eisteddfod cannot forget the many volunteers who help out each year. Without them it would not be possible.
Thank you for your support and contribution.
